The Team

Our team is led by Paul Anderson and Sarah Harburn, both leaders in the field of sustainable development. Our associate consultants and partners have worked with us personally for many years, and bring a huge depth of competence and experience to our projects and programmes.

Paul Anderson is an experienced sustainability leader and advocate. With over 20 years working in the fast-paced marketing services sector, within a manufacturing environment, Paul understands the many challenges facing companies - from materials, machinery and manpower perspectives - as they attempt to miniminse environmental impact, improve their stakeholder relations and work to become more profitable.

Paul has an MBA from London Business School, an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London and a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from Southampton University. He has studied Cleantech in the US at the University of California at Berkeley, and Private Sector & International Development at Columbia Business School in New York. Paul has also spent time in South Africa studying the social and business challenges facing the country as it develops its economy after the apartheid era. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce (FRSA), a Chartered Marketer and holds full memberships of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM) and the Institute of Engineering & Technology, as well as associate membership (AIEMA) of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment.

Sarah Harburn is widely experienced analyst, programme and project manager. With a wide range experience from Insurance to Print & Publishing in customer facing roles, she brings a calm and ordered approach to analysis of data, the development of programmes and their implementation. Has recent experience in the Social Enterprise sector as Chair of the award-winning Vines Centre Trust. Sarah has a BA in French from Leicester University. Her current field of interest is in the preservation of Historic Building, and works closely with many organisations in the field.

David Ince is a versatile and dynamic creative practitioner, whose skills and experience range over a number of different fields including graphic design, photography, copywriting, film editing, colour grading and script writing.

After completing his undergraduate degree in graphic design at Falmouth College of Art, David went to work with IBM e-business Innovations. Since then, David has diversified his skill set and built up substantial experience in both private and public sectors, completing projects for many national and international clients. In 2003 he completed a Masters degree in Photography with a specific focus on narrative engagement. More recently, David completed a second Masters degree in Creative Writing. In 2011, David was one of six writers selected internationally for the North Sea Screen Partnership (NSSP) script development programme, and in 2012 led a team selected for the Screen South Creative Business Base scheme. David is currently working with Sustaina on a number of design related projects, while developing his interests in the film industry.

Third Sector Experience
Both Paul and Sarah were part of the founding team that set up and ran the multi award winning social enterprise, The Vines Centre Trust. Although no longer operational, the trust ran for 7 years with a mission to help the longer term unemployed via job training and skills development, as well as providing free and heavily subsidised furniture and white goods for those on low incomes. Additional Trust activities included a Fridge recycling programme, cyber cafes and after-school clubs.

Awards and recognition
The team have been involved in the creation of many award winning programmes and systems - recognised by both National and International Institutions. Awards and commendations have been gained from the EU Health and Safety Commission, Business in the Community (BITC Big Tick Awards), DEFRA, The Environment Agency, Waterwise, The Green Organisation (Green Apple Awards), Envirowise, The Sustainable City Awards, The Business Committment to the Environment (BCE) Awards as well as the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF), Kent County Council (KCC) and The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA).
